Youth Red Cross (YRC)

The Youth Red Cross (YRC) is a prominent humanitarian youth wing of the Indian Red Cross Society, targeting student volunteers aged 18–25 in colleges and schools. Focused on the motto "To Serve," it promotes health, service, and international friendliness through activities like blood donation camps, disaster relief, health education, and first-aid training.

Kavitha’s College Of Arts and Science Youth Red Cross aims to serve towards humanitarian values that develops respect for other human beings and willingness to work together to find solutions to problems. Youth represent a substantial part of the membership of the Red Cross for its humanitarian commitment. Young volunteers can make a significant contribution to meeting the needs of the most vulnerable people within their local communities through the Red Cross youth Programme.

This has been designed to involve young people as much as possible in the movement and its activities not only as workers, also as beneficiaries, and as partners in management. The movement is guided by seven fundamental principles that aim to shape and influence the behavior of people in serving humanity. These principles ensure that the movement works with compassion, fairness, and responsibility. Humanity emphasizes protecting life and health while promoting respect among all people. Impartiality means helping individuals without discrimination based on nationality, race, religion, or political beliefs. Neutrality ensures that the movement does not take sides in conflicts or controversies. Independence highlights that the movement functions autonomously while following humanitarian values. Voluntary Service shows that its activities are driven by a spirit of selfless service rather than the desire for gain. Unity signifies that only one recognized organization exists in a country and it serves everyone equally. Finally, Universality reflects that all societies within the movement share equal status and support one another worldwide. Together, these principles guide the movement in promoting humanitarian values and encouraging people to act with kindness, equality, and cooperation.
