About the Department
The Department of Mathematics was established in the year 2015 with an undergraduate programme, focuses of the developing students in pure and applied Mathematics subjects. The department has qualified and dedicated faculty members who are actively engaged in teaching. The students are provided with ample opportunities to improve their organizational skills and group dynamics. Apart from emphasizing consistent and good academic performance, the department encourages students to participate in extracurricular and co-curricular activities in order to bring out their finest qualities. Every year the department produces more than 95 percentages of results and maximum number of centum in various papers.
Modern mathematics curriculum focuses on fostering numeracy, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills from early stages through high school. Key highlights include integrating real-life applications, using digital tools, promoting data literacy, and fostering a positive attitude towards mathematics, ensuring career readiness and understanding of concepts like algebra, geometry, and calculus.
Math Students Development Activities are designed to bridge the gap between theoretical mathematics and practical, industry-oriented application. These activities typically include seminars, guest lectures, workshops, and industrial visits, providing students with exposure to advanced technologies and career opportunities. Mathematics Value –Added / Skill Development Courses enhance career prospects by bridging the gap between academic knowledge and industrial needs. Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Quantitative Aptitude, Vedic Maths, and Software training in R, MATLAB, and LaTeX, often conducted as 30 – hours short – term certification courses.
Mathematics industry collaborations drive innovation by applying mathematical modeling, statistics, and computational methods to real-world business challenges, such as in pharma and technology. Partnerships, like those involving SIAM and the European Consortium for Mathematics in Industry (ECMI), foster partnerships to solve industrial problems, develop technology, and promote STEM education.
Data science and analytics are distinct yet complementary fields focused on deriving value from data.
