Women Empowerment Cell

The Women Empowerment Cell, established in 2021, is committed to promoting gender equality and empowering women students and staff. We strive to create a safe and supportive environment for women to grow and thrive. A Women Empowerment Cell (WEC) in a college is a crucial, mandatory body aimed at promoting gender equality, dignity, and inclusivity on campus. Its primary importance lies in fostering a safe, respectful environment-serving as a ‘second home’ for female students and staff-through awareness campaigns, legal aid workshops, and strict antiharassment measures, such as the Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal Act 2013. Beyond safety, the cell acts as a catalyst for intellectual and professional growth by organizing skill-building workshops, entrepreneurship initiatives like ‘Srujana’ flea markets, and self-defense training to build confidence and independence. By counseling students, providing a platform to voice views, and encouraging leadership, the WEC bridges the gender gap, transforming women from students into competent, confident professionals ready to face societal challenges.

Our Vision

A gender-equal and empowering environment where women can thrive and reach their full potential.

Our Mission

The cell's mission is to promote gender sensitivity and women's empowerment on campus, provide a platform for women to voice their concerns, organize awareness events, and support women's development.

The cell organizes seminars, self-defense training, counseling services, celebrates women's achievements, and collaborates with NGOs to promote women's empowerment and create a more inclusive society.
