B.Sc Botany
About the Department
The Department of Botany was established in the year 2018 with the aim to provide complete knowledge regarding both conventional and recent trends in plant science. The course deals with educating students about plant science and the utility of plants in relation to mankind. The program is a vast course covering a number of branches like taxonomy, anatomy, genetics and cytology, giving an idea about the physiological functions and diversity of plants.
B.Sc.Botany curriculum typically blends foundational plant sciences with modern applications in biotechnology, ecology, and genetics. Students progress from core plant biology in the first year to specialized areas like molecular biology, plant pathology, and environmental management in later years.
Skill-oriented programs designed to supplement the core B.Sc. Botany curriculum. They focus on practical applications like plant breeding, biotechnology, conservation, and sustainable agriculture, helping students gain industry-relevant skills alongside their degree.
After completing a B.Sc. in Botany, you can pursue higher studies like M.Sc. in Botany, Environmental Science, Biotechnology, or Forestry, or enter careers in research, teaching, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and conservation in the field of forestry and agriculture. The field offers diverse opportunities in India and abroad, especially with the growing demand in biotechnology and sustainability sectors.
Our Botany Department usually maintains well-equipped laboratories to support both teaching and research, ensuring students gain hands-on skills in plant sciences. Faculty members are often highly experienced researchers with publications and contributions to applied projects in agriculture, forestry, and biodiversity.
Our Vision
Attempt is to prepare students for lifelong learning by drawing attention to the vast world of knowledge of plants and introducing to the methodology of systematic academic enquiry. With this in mind, we aim to provide a firm foundation in every aspect of Botany and to explain a broad spectrum of modern trends in Botany.
Our Mission
The mission of the Botany Department is to provide an immersive learning experience through classroom instruction, laboratory work, field studies, and practical applications, nurturing scientific temperament and lifelong learning in the vast world of plants, while fostering the academic, moral, and financial development of students to become self-reliant and responsible members of society
