About the Department
The Department of Chemistry started in the academic year 2016. The knowledge of basic science is essential for student to make the sustainable development and face the upcoming societal change. The B.Sc. syllabus provides basic knowledge in chemical sciences covering all branches of chemistry and gives practical training to enrich their skills to build sustainable chemical technology for Energy, Health and Environment Sectors. A typical Department of Chemistry offers comprehensive education and research in inorganic, organic, physical, and analytical chemistry. With strong faculty expertise, departments focus on producing skilled graduates for industry/academic, often featuring advanced laboratories for materials science, nanotechnology, and green chemistry. Chemistry graduates have diverse career opportunities across sectors like pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals, food manufacturing, and environmental science, with roles such as analytical chemist, research scientist, quality control analyst, and forensic scientist. Our Chemistry Department association was Inaugurated on 08.09.2017, the chief guest Dr. K. Nirubama, R&D Manager, Bio Clinical Lab. We conducted a workshop on the title of “Preparation of Ink and Soap Powder” on 07.09.2017. Our Students prepared model Blue Ink, Red Ink and Washing Soap powder. Our Department students have visited “Sashsayee Paper & Boards Limited” on September 2017.

Our Mission
To develop a basic knowledge in Chemistry with practical experience; To kindle the interest of students towards the development of technical skills to start their own business through mini projects and in-plant training; To enhance the students with the capacity of application-oriented skills, which is a gateway to professional chemists.
