Department of Computer Science was started in the academic year of 2015 – 2016 with B.Sc Computer Science UG Course (Full Time – 3 Years). Career in Computer Science is considered as one of the most high-paying jobs. Numerous IT companies from India employ huge number of computer science professionals in their Indian and overseas offices. Department of Computer Science provides high-end technology teaching to the students in our college. The faculty members of the Department are actively involved in many advanced areas of research namely Embedded System, Data Mining, Cloud Computing and Mobile Computing. The department has an association “Astound Clusters” for exploring the innovations of student’s co-curricular skills by offering series of Seminars, Guest lectures, Workshops and Technical Symposiums. MISSION OF THE DEPARTMENT:
• To instruct high quality professional training at the undergraduate level with an emphasis on basic principles of computer science.
• To create nationally and internationally recognized research centres and exposes the students to broad research experience in Computer Science Discipline.
PROGRAMMES ORGANIZED:
♦ Department of Computer Science was inaugurated the Association “Astound Clusters” on September 9, 2016 and followed by the Guest Lecture in the topic of Significant of Preprocessing Technique in image processing. Dr. R. Manavalan, Professor, Department of CS, Arignar Anna Govt. College, Villupuram was acted as Chief Guest.
♦ Department of Computer Science and its Association “Astound Clusters” had conducted a real time workshop on December 18, 2017 in the topic of Recent Trends in Android Application Development using Java Language. Mr. R. Kumar sidhan MCA, Managing Director and Aptitude Trainer, Kalvi Technologies, Salem had acted as a Resource Person for the Workshop.
♦ Department of Computer Science and its Association “Astound Clusters” had Organized an One day workshop on February 5, 2019 in the topic of “Passive Income Earning methods through Online” which is used to develop the Knowledge of Students in Online Earning Methods like YouTube Channel and so on. Mr. G. Siva, Managing Director, CGS Info Tech, Rasipuram had acted as a Chief Guest and also a Resource Person. He had explained various earning methods in online such as Website Designing in PHP, HTML and Online Data Entry Websites.
♦ Computer Science Department and its Association “Astound Clusters” had conducted One Day Workshop on July 22, 2019 in the topic of “Web Designing in PHP and Designing in Photoshop CS 6 with CorelDraw Basics” which is concentrated to develop the Knowledge of Students in various domains like PHP, Photoshop CS 6 and CorelDraw. Mr. M. Mohan M.Sc (EC)., M.Sc (IT).,M.Phil (CS) had acted as a Resource Person for the workshop “Web Designing in PHP”. Mr. A. Manikandan M.Sc.,B.Ed., Adobe Photoshop Trainer & CorelDraw Designer had acted as a Resource Person for the Workshop Session “Designing in Photoshop CS 6 with CorelDraw”.
♦ Computer Science Department and its Association “Astound Clusters” had organized a One day Workshop in the topic of “Project Development in Visual Studio & Designing with Photoshop” on December 11, 2019. Mr. A. Karthik BE.,MBA., Branch Head, Multimedia Trainer of Uniso Info Solutions, Salem and Mr. P. Vijayakumar BE., Cloud Computing Expert were acted as Chief Guests.
Industrial Visit:
♦ The Department arranges an Industrial Visit to “Nithra Mobile Application development centre” at Tiruchengode for final year students at every Academic Year to develop the Practical Knowledge about how to create Mobile app and how the computer hardware is assembled.
Value Added Courses:
♦ Department of Computer Science offers Value Added Courses DCA & HDCA for all UG and PG Students to develop their practical exposure in various computer skills such as MS – Office, C, C++, Java, Visual Basic 6.0, Internet and Photoshop.
