YRC – Youth Red Cross

INTRODUCTION

The Indian Red Cross Society is a voluntary humanitarian organization, established by an act of the Indian Legislature in 1920, having on its rolls the states, the union territories, the districts and the sub-district branches. Its activities are being directed forward to the “Prevention of Diseases, Improvement of Health and Mitigation of Suffering”. The Indian Red Cross Society realized the importance of the youth way back in 1925 and established Junior Red Cross (JRC) in schools and Youth Red Cross (YRC) in colleges.  We are inaugurated Youth Red Cross  (YRC) cell on the presence of our beloved Chief guest Dr. K. S. Loganathan, District Co-Ordinator, Department of Economics, Thiruvalluvar Government Arts College, Rasipuram on 14.10.2016. He delivered a wonderful speech about the YRC Cell.

VISION   

To be the most effective and trusted institution in this rural area to improve the lives of patients with humanitarian concern and thereby making a man whole by providing service wholeheartedly.

MISSION       

To perform a critical role in healthcare by providing a safe collection of different blood groups and also to inspire, encourage and initiate at all times, all forms of Social Service activities so that human sufferings are minimized, alleviated and even prevented.

EVENTS:

♦ Student Mr. M. Prabudeva, Department of Business Administration, was participated in the One Day District Level YRC Programme at Thiruvalluvar Government Arts College, Rasipuram on 15.02.2017.

♦ Conducted the Blood Donation Camp with Blood Bank of Government Hospital, Rasipuram on 28.07.2017. Our students were participated voluntarily and also donated the blood in the camp.

♦ Organized Blood Donation Camp with Lions Club, Erode on 4.04.2018. Our students was participated eagerly and donated the blood to save the suffering Patients of the Society.

♦ Mr. K. Dharmalingam, Head of the Department, Commerce has participated in the  “One Day Zonal level Orientation Programme” held at Periyar University, Salem on 19.07.2019.

♦ Our YRC students have participated in the “One Day Mega Cultural Events Programme” held at PGP Arts and Science College, Namakkal on 22.08.2019.

♦ Our student N. Sacha , Department of Commerce has participated in the Three Days Zonal level Programme” held at Periyar University, Salem from 4.09.2019 to 6.09.2019.

♦ Organized Blood Camp with Government Hospital, Tiruchengode on 17.09.2019. 55 Students was voluntarily participated and donated the blood to the patients in the camp.

♦ Conducted Campus cleaning programme on the Awareness of cleaning in our college through YRC Volunteers on 23.01.2020.

♦ Conducted the Rally on the Awareness of the World Voters Day on 24.01.2020. This Rally was conducted from our college campus to Vaiyappamalai.Our students have participated in the Programme.

♦ Conducted the Rally on the Awareness of the Road Safety on the presence of the chief guest Mr. Allimuthu, Deputy Inspector, Elachipalayam police station , on 25.01.2020. This Rally was conducted from our college campus to Vaiyappamalai. Our students have participated in the Programme.
